Website Push Certificates expire after one year by default. When your current certificate expires, you can not only see in your account under Settings → Certificates → Apple Safari → Valid until, but Signalize will also remind you automatically.
Renewal before expiry is important because without a valid certificate it is neither possible to send push messages to Safari users nor to collect subscribers for iOS devices.
Note: Renewal of the certificate must be done with the same Apple Developer Account that was used to create the initial certificate.
Follow these steps to renew your certificate:
Step 1:
Log in to your Signalize account and go to Settings → Certificates → Website Push to download the Certificate Signing Request (CER):
Step 2:
Next, log in to your Apple Developer account and select Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles:
Step 3:
Add a new certificate via Certificates + and select Website Push ID Certificate under Services in the following dialogue:
Step 4:
On the next page in the drop-down menu, select the website Push ID you want to renew and click Continue:
Step 5:
Click Choose File, select the Certificate Signing Request (CER) downloaded in step 1 and press Continue:
Step 6:
The certificate has been renewed and is now available for you to download via the Download button. Upload the certificate to your Signalize account under Settings → Certificates → Apple Safari:
